The staff are always mowing, striming painting,chopping down coconuts. The pools are really good you have the noisey pool with the swim up bar which is very busy and that is where they have the foam party on Saturdays.Then there is the quiet pool and the beach which are really nice and relaxing and you can always get a bed without getting up at 7am to get around the pool. The entertainment was the best especially the magic show! Jennifer and the entertainment team do a brilliant job getting people up but also they dont pester you to join in. Five to choose all very good and no need to book and you can visit as many times as you like!. Our room did need updating a new mirror and new toilet seat is all it needed and the sofa had a few stains on it. Ask if someone can take to your room in the golf buggy we tried to find our room in the dark but failed and had to flag down a golf buggy who took us to our room. We arrived in Mexico in the afternoon the airport is awful! And then trying to find the bus was just as bad!!. We flew on the Dreamliner and decided to pay the extra and went Premium and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit to Mexico and we really enjoyed it. Although we declined we found that they had already booked us in an ocean view room.

The attempts by the people selling premium services are pushy and are so bad at times that you dont want to visit the lobby (which is amazing by the way.) When we checked in they tried to upgrade us to an ocean view room. Complaints: While most of the guests are fine and courteous there were some that frankly were as rude to the staff as you can possibly imagine. We stayed at the Iberostar up the coast a couple years ago and I have to say that although this resort is much smaller it is every bit as good. The pillows are fine better than the ones you had at summer camp, better than a motel 6 but not as good as a Hilton. Try the cream of bean soup, and the salmon!!! Based on other reviews we brought pillows from home. If you are looking for tacos and burritos you are not going to find it this isnt taco bell, This is actual Mexican food. The Mexican is outstanding and very traditional. The food is excellent, the hot food at the buffet is hot, the cold food is cold and it is all good. Specific to the food, I have to say if you cant find something good to eat here you are just too fussy. If you’re keen, you will never be bored.The service is over the top, the room was clean and comfortable, the grounds are perfect. There is no shortage of activities at OMR. We also went to Xplor (highly recommend) for a day and also over to Cozumel where we rented a scooter / vehicles and drove around the island. Beach volleyball, water volleyball, water aerobics & lazy games are just some of the activities we enjoyed during our stay. Was at the “party” pool most of the trip, though the quiet pool was nice.
Don’t expect anything spectacular but it did the trick.īeaches were gorgeous, cenotes are so fun and worth the short 15 min beach walk. I did not partake in any other spa services (though I’m sure I was asked 100 times). I highly recommend their bridal services. The makeup/hair stylist (whose name escapes me) did an amazing job. We had many lunch buffets there and wish I had had dinner there more often as well. Their Eggs Benedict and fish tacos were amazing!! The Mexican restaurant was my other favourite. My favourite place to eat was the Privilege Lounge (thank you uncle for getting us an upgrade). We had minimal issues getting into the a la cartes, usually a bit of a wait unless you made a reservation for later. The food was delicious, though the buffet was just OK. Our group grew very fond of the entertainment team (special mention to Arturo and Marena) and made our trip extra special. Daniela was amazing at helping organize and coordinate our special day. We were married at OMR on the beach and the ceremony and reception were flawless. Our entire group (16 adults) was very pleased with the resort overall.
